Foxtail Millets are rich in phosphorus. Foxtail Millets also helps in controlling the blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
Barnyard Millets are high in fiber content, Phosphorus and calcium. Barnyard Millets have low glycemic index.
Ideal Millet Flakes: Kodo, Little, Foxtail, Barnyard Flakes.
Ingredients : (Serves 4)
> 250 gms Millet flakes
> Oil/Ghee, Mustard seeds, Hing, Curry Leaves, Cashewuts, Urad dal, Chana dal (for seasoning) Chopped Onions, chillies, salt.
> Coriander, Lemon juice, Fresh grated coconut.
Instructions :
> Heat Oil/Ghee. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, hing, chana & urad dal.
> Then add cashew nuts, onions and chillies. Add salt for taste.
> Add 500ml water and let the ingredients boil for 3-4 minutes.
> In separate bowl wash millets flakes thoroughly, drain immediately.
> Add millets, stir well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes in low flame.
> Garnish with lemon juice, coriander leaves and fresh grated coconut.
Ideal Millet Flakes: Kodo, Little, Foxtail, Barnyard Flakes.
Ingredients : (Serves 4)
> 250 gms SIISTI Millet Flakes, 150 gms Tur Dal.
> 150 gms Tur Dal.
> 250 gms Chopped Vegetables ( Beans, carrot, potatoes, peas, capsicum).
> Oil, Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds, Hing, Curry Leaves, Chopped Onions, Tomatoes, Ginger Garlic Paste, Tamarind pulp, Bisi Bele Bath Powder, Salt, Chili Powder, Gaggery, Coriander.
Instructions :
> Pressure cook Tur dal with 500ml water for 3 whistles.
> Pressure cook all chopped vegetables with 400ml water for 1 whistle.
> In a deep pan, heat 4-6 spoons of oil.
> Add mustard seeds, hing & cumin seeds, curry leaves, onions, tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste and fry.
> Now add boiled vegetables, chilli powder, turmeric powder, bisi bele bath powder, salt, little jaggery and continue frying for a minute.
> In separate bowl wash millets flakes thoroughly, drain immediately.
> Add tamarind pulp, cooked dal, drained millet flakes into the deep pan with 100 ml water and continue to cook in a low flame for 2 minutes.
> Garnish with coriander leaves.
